Musée océanographique de Monaco

The Oceanographic Institute – Albert I Foundation, Prince of Monaco was founded in 1906 by Prince Albert I. For over a century, it has brought together scientific, political, economic, educational, and non-profit stakeholders, as well as the general public, to promote awareness, appreciation, and protection of the ocean.
To further this mission, it implements numerous outreach initiatives, drawing on its two institutions – the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco and the Maison de l’Océan (House of the Ocean) in Paris – and digital tools.
The Oceanographic Museum of Monaco boasts one of the oldest aquariums in the world!
Discover our tanks, specially designed to recreate complex ecosystems, where each species plays its role. From the Mediterranean to the Tropics, from sea turtles to fluorescent corals, let yourself be captivated by the underwater wonders of our Blue Planet!
